Our Techniques

Dr. Gerard Rosato employs a wide range of proven techniques for each individual case. Below, you’ll find a brief explanation of the popular chiropractic techniques used at the practice.

Diversified Manipulation

A hands on approach using a high velocity, low amplitude force to remove interference on the nervous system.

Receptor-Tonus Technique
All function begins with information receptors send into responsive neurons. Any interference with this system evokes false response, resulting in abnormal function. Noxious generative points or trigger points, which adversely affect the sympathetics and therefore circulation, fall into this classification.

The Tonus Function controls muscle balance.  Interference with this system results in hyper- or hypotonic muscles; therefore is responsible for any osseous malalignment, including the vertebra.

Proper application of this technique brings immediate relief.  It deals exclusively with the nervous system, principally the sympathetics.

Drop Table
This technique makes use of specialized drop-piece mechanisms in the table to assist the adjustment. Individual cushions or "drop pieces" located along the table support each area of the spine until the thrust is given. Then, each drop-piece gently gives way, reducing the pressure needed to move a specific spinal segment.

Alexander Technique

Stresses the importance of reeducating the muscular system.  By unlearning common bad posture habits and ways of using the body, one can alleviate tension, fatigue, back pain, neck stiffness, headaches, asthma, depression, and many other ailments.

Additional Therapies
Our office employs many physical therapy modalities, including ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation, mechanical traction and spinal decompression to complement our other techniques.
